Volkswagen Unveils California Berghaus Limited Edition

As the UK weather turns from the short summer to the long, dreary autumn, it’s good to have a roof over your head when you go camping. Thus Volkswagen proposes its limited edition Berghaus addition to the versatile California range as an alternative.
The California Berghaus has been specially developed to be the solution for exploring and enjoying the outdoors in comfort and style.

The limited edition Berghaus model boasts all of the creature comforts that standard California models offer, including seating and accommodation for four people, thanks to an electrically-operated pop-up roof, a fully-functioning integrated kitchen in the rear living space including a fridge and gas-powered cooker, and fold-away table and chairs.

In addition to the extensive list of equipment fitted as standard, the California now also features a bike rack, side-mounted awning, 18-inch bi-color ‘Dakar’ alloy wheels, metallic paint, Berghaus-branded carpet mats and waterproof seat covers and Berghaus badging.

All such models come fitted with a 2.0-liter BiTDI 180 engine and six-speed manual transmission, which combined return 36.2 mpg on the combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 205 g/km.  Acceleration from standstill to 62 mph takes a respectable 12.4 seconds.

All California models are equipped with an extensive range of safety devices including anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control (TCS), engine braking control (EBC) and Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP).

Priced at £47,995 on the road (including VAT), the Berghaus model is the first ever special edition California.
