Volkswagen has finally confirmed that it will launch the all-new Passat in India by March this year, which means customers in this fast growing market should get the vehicle in less than a month. Furthermore, the German brand has also revealed that the range will include BlueMotion technologies, as it gears up for the introduction of a new campaign called "Think Blue".
"We will launch the all new edition of Passat in the Indian market by March 2011. It will be launched at the same time as the 'Think Blue' campaign is introduced in the country," Volkswagen Group Sales India's Director, Neeraj Garg, was quoted as saying by The Economic Times.
"The all new Volkswagen Passat will come to India with BlueMotion features like start stop, brake energy recuperation, DSG duel clutch gear box, gear shift indicator and an extremely fuel efficient engine," he added.
The Think Blue campaign will focus on the efficiency boasted by Volkswagen's models, especially those featuring BlueMotion technologies that are said to reach new standards of fuel economy.
"Building on one of the best-known environmental labels in the automobile industry, 'BlueMotion', Volkswagen is sending out a new signal for sustainable mobility," the Volkswagen official said.
In the meantime, the German carmaker is getting ready for the 2011 Geneva Auto Show that will open its doors to the media next week. The company will thus bring in Switzerland the new Tiguan, as well as the all-new Golf Convertible, both of them displayed alongside two fresh concepts designed by Giugiaro's Italdesign.
