Volkswagen Super Bowl Ads Hit the Web

And here they are, the two Super Bowl ads with which German manufacturer Volkswagen plans to capture the hearts and minds of the football fans. Both clips, one advertising the soon to be launched Beetle and the other showcasing the new Passat can be seen below.

Unfortunately for those expecting to see the real new Beetle (the 21st century Beetle, as Volkswagen calls it), there is no actual car in sight. The model will be launched this fall, with the chances of us seeing a photo of it until closer to the release date dropping dramatically after viewing this clip.

So, the new Beetle will not be revealed during a Super Bowl break, but at least those with a taste of humor and a bit of imagination can enjoy seeing a CGI beetle racing like mad through insect kingdom. At the end of the clip, you might get a short, very short look at the lines which will make up the new Beetle.

The second video, the one showing the Passat, is a bit more down to Earth, even if it involves some characters which are not from this galaxy. The new Passat is advertised in a simple way, without the huge waste of CGI effects like in the Beetle commercial.

Still, the child-Darth Vader, with his surprised look on his face when he believes he made the Passat respond to the Force is worth a thousand words and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

As said, you can watch both videos below. Enjoy.
