Presented at the 2010 Paris Auto Show in late September, the new generation Volkswagen Passat is getting ready to meet its future buyers through a new marketing campaign created by the German manufacturer.
The campaign is titled “More than one idea ahead” and has been designed to highlight the vehicle's high-tech attributes, starting with the new GPS-like iPhone app (available from the iTunes Store for free download from early December) and ending with the Distance Control driver assistance system.
The car will be advertised through all the regular channels, TV, in popular magazines and on the Internet. In addition, Volkswagen will also cover all the aspects of the car on the newly-designed brand website for the German market.
On the website, customers will be able to adorn their car with whatever Volkswagen accessories and lifestyle products they might like.
The Passat will be launched onto the market towards the end of the month and will come equipped with a range of ten engines, with power outputs ranging in between 105 and 300 ps. Technologies like Stop/Start system and braking regeneration are offered as options on the smallest petrol units.
Safety wise, the model is equipped, aside for the now common airbags and ABS, with Side Assist assistance system, seatbelt fastening detection for the rear seats and head restraints. The Dynamic Light Assist option which debuted on the Touareg, has been fitted into the Passat as well.
Prices for the new Passat have not yet been announced, but you should expect them to be in the following days.
