Volkswagen Invites You to Eat the Road

There are some cars that just eat the road and this is the kind of vehicles we love to drive. You know how it feels: you push the accelerator pedal and, with or without turbo lag, the surroundings becomes blurry. Volkswagen knows this very well and has decided to use it as marketing bait for its hottest vehicle.

Das Auto created a print ad in which it invites people to eat the road. The marketing trick is used for the Golf R, one of the hottest hatches on the market. We have to mention that the ad was placed inside the Auto Trader magazine.

What can we say, we need no invitation, as we love eating roads for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and so on. Thus, the only thing we have to get is the Golf R.

So, what is it that makes this hatch so desirable? Well, up front we find a 2.0-liter TSI petrol unit, which relies on turbocharging and direct injection to deliver 271 hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The road is served through all four wheels, which means that you get a great start off the line, as well as impressive handling.

You can have the first taste of a performance benchmark in 5.7 seconds and the dishes keep coming up to 155 mph (250 km/h). Of course, you also get various toppings, such as a sexy yet discrete aerodynamic package, LED headlights and taillights and others.

What's that? You want more? so do we!
