About thirteen months ago, Dodge swept us off our wheels by announcing the 2016 Viper ACR had set no less than 13 track records. To this day, many enthusiasts still ask themselves how the evolution of what once used to get labeled as a shed-built supercar managed to obliterate the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder on Laguna Seca, for instance.
A very good answer to that question comes from Engineering Explained, with the car geek's favorite YouTube channel comparing the ACR and the Ferrari 488 in the attempt to explain the snake's circuit success - while you don't really need to question why anybody would use the Ferrari 488 as a yardstick, the explanation for this is delivered anyway.

By now, we've all gotten used to Engineering Explained's videos, which make the kind of physics we learned in school seem like they were designed centuries ago. And the clip we have here happens to be one of the most exciting we've seen so far, so perhaps it's not a coincidence that the footage was uploaded around the same time the channel hit one million subscribers.

After digesting the maths and logic soup provided by this piece of footage, we have one thing to add: notice how this type of explanations treat the driver as if he or she would also be a machine, having a perfect skill and being 100 percent connected to the vehicle at all times.

And this is where, in our book, the true might of the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR comes into play. The way in which the track tool handles and interacts with the human in its driver's seat is simply amazing. And that's without even considering the Viper's past, which shows an extreme driver-killing fetish

P.S.: When you're watching the final ten seconds of the video, keep in mind that Engineering Explained bought a Honda S2000 earlier this year.
