Presented as the “fastest street legal Viper track car ever,” the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is set to go on sale in the third quarter of 2015. Power-wise, the newest American Club Racer is animated by 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque produced by a gargantuan 8.4-liter V10 engine.
An extremely interesting detail regarding the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is that the “1 of 1” customization program allows customers to create a personalized version of the ultimate American supercar from 25 million build combinations. 8,000 exterior hues and roughly 24,000 custom stripe colors are included.

The hand-built all-American bruiser is exclusively available with a Tremec TR6060 six-speed stick shift, yet the Extreme Aero package pictured in the gallery below comes as an option. Dodge says that at 177 mph (285 km/h), the aero bits are offering almost 1 ton of downforce. Visually speaking, that 1,876-mm wide rear wing is the icing on the cake.

According to the manufacturer, the adjustable dual-element rear wing and the rest of the Extreme Aero package deliver “more than three times the downforce of the Viper TA 2.0 package.” After all, aerodynamics, chassis and tires were developed with one detail in mind: to maximize grip levels at such a rate that you can pull 1.5 Gs in the corners.

A superhero’s uncle once said: “With great power comes great responsibility.” The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR abides by that rule, especially if you consider the stopping power of the Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix brake system. The highly capable system employs 390-millimeter (15.4-inch) discs up front and 360-millimeter (14.2-inch) discs at the rear.

“The Viper has always been more of a street-legal race car than a track-capable streetcar, and the new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever,” noted Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of the Dodge and SRT brands. “Our goal is to arm our enthusiasts with the ultimate Viper track car to dominate road courses around the world.” For more info on this extreme Snake, refer to the release below the video.
