The VXR8 Tourer is Vauxhall’s most powerful machine introduced to the UK market. Priced under £50,000 and having some unique features, it could be the ultimate family car ever made for British roads.
In the first place, it is a Corvette powered family car, which is pretty neat. It features the previous-gen Chevrolet Corvette 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 425 bhp, which are sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. It can do the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 4.9 seconds, and can reach a top speed that is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) to haul your family safely. This also makes the Tourer the fastest estate car Vauxhall has ever made.
For £49,500 you get a 895 liters boot (2,000 liters with the seats folded), full-leather trim, special HSV Performance Seats, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, 20-inch Pentagon alloy wheels, two-coat metallic paint, Bi-Modal exhaust and Vauxhall’s Enhanced Interface (EDI). Also, the 5-inch infotainment screen can show you lap times, G-force and the maximum degree at which you drifted your family.
