The 1364cc unit now delivers an extra 22 hp at 5,428 rpm, with the company promising that the progressive increase can be felt from 1,700 rpm to the 6,250 rpm red line limiter. As for the torque, the engine has gained 36 Nm (26.5 lb-ft) at 2,557 rpm, but Superchips tells us that we get “noticeable gains” from 2500 to 5000 rpm.

As for the fuel efficiency, the tuning specialist tells us that, if the same driving style is kept, the fuel consumption will remain unchanged. To install the upgrade, which will set you back GBP 499 (EUR616), you can visit one of the 80 Superchips dealers across the UK. You can also di the job yourself, using Superchips’ Bluefin “Plug-in and Go” programming handset.

“The Superchips ECU remap for the Astra, Corsa and Meriva 1.4T 120PS models is available on Superchips’ market leading Bluefin ‘Plug-in and Go’ programming handset. No mechanical or technical skills are required, because Bluefin allows for quick and easy DIY uploading of the Superchips ECU remap onto these Vauxhall models’ in a matter of minutes. As part of this process, the Superchips Bluefin handset also stores the cars original ECU map, enabling the owner to reload the standard map at any time,” a company release states.
