Opel’s interim CEO, Thomas Sedran, has recently revealed that the next generation of the Opel / Vauxhall Insignia will share its mechanical side with the Cadillac XTS.
The Insignia is set to receive a revamp this summer, with the vehicle currently undergoing winter testing, as you can see in the latest set of spyshots. The aforementioned development reffers to the following generation of the car, which is scheduled to be launched in the second part of the decade.

The move means that the Insignia will be fitted with a multitude of new GM technologies which will have already been tested on Cadillac models.

Previous rumors indicated the next generation of the Insignia could be paired with the following iteration of the Peugeot 508 and Citroen C5, after GM and PSA announced they will join forces for MPV development. However, the two companies will not expand their collaboration to large sedans.
