Just V10 and V12 Ferrari F1 Cars Hooning It Around Fiorano

Most of you probably associate F1 with the scream of the V10 and V8 engines used in recent years, however, the older readers among you may remember the stunning (and deeper) sound of the V12-powered F1 cars of the 1990s. After Marchettino captured some footage of Ferrari’s 2005 F1 car, which featured a 3.0-liter V10 with 940 hp, something very special came onto the Fiorano track.
It was the 1995 Ferrari F1 car, the 412t2 to be precise, a car powered (as it should) by a proper V12, with the same displacement of the more modern car’s V10, putting out 700 hp. The car was driven by Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger and it made its debut at Interlagos, Brazil, in 1994, and was driven until 1996. It was never really successful, as its very talented drivers were only able to achieve two wins, four poles and three fastest laps in its two year competitive life, despite a young Michael Schumacher testing it and declaring it “good enough to win a world championship”.

However, the fact that it wasn’t successful in racing does nothing to detract from the sound coming out of the back - a truly epic typically-Ferrari V12 sound, which we say is much nicer-sounding than all current F1 engines.
