We were worried that the Lamborghini Murcielago was to be the last hurrah of the naturally-aspirated V12 engine. Happily, the Aventador also features a V12, but to our ears, the sound is considerably worse (and less ‘raw’) than the one in the Murcielago.
The lovely V12 in the Murcielago is a joy to hear, and it definitely startled a few people on the streets of Hamburg, while this on-board video was shot. Sadly, there weren’t many traffic-less areas and the driver couldn’t use the engine as it should have been used, but there are some parts where the traffic clears up and he just floors it.
Furthermore, it’s not just any-old Murcielago - it’s the final and greatest one, the LP670-4 Super Veloce, so we feel privileged to have taken a virtual ride in it, even if it was through the streets of the German city of Hamburg during the day (we would have preferred night time).
