The fifth-generation Nissan Skyline GT-R is one of the coolest sports cars in automotive history. It’s arguably the greatest performance car to ever come out of Japan, and it now makes for a hell of a collector’s item. Case in point, this pearl white example just sold for $325,000, which is basically what it would cost you to buy a brand-new Ferrari 296 GTB or a McLaren 750S.
Nissan knew what they were doing when they unveiled the fifth-gen R34 Skyline GT-R. Compared to its predecessor, this was a slightly shorter car with a reduced front overhang and considerably more rigidity. It was built to perform to the best of its abilities, and as a driver, you would certainly have loved that new 5.8” LCD multifunction display, feeding you live readings regarding turbocharger pressure and various temperatures.
Nissan would go on to build several limited edition and special edition variants, among them the so-called V-Spec N1, with just 38 units known to have existed. This was a “homologation special” type of deal, meaning it had no air conditioning or audio equipment. It didn’t even have a rear wiper. These cars mostly ended up in the hands of racing teams and tuning garages, but a few individual customers managed to get their hands on them too.
Well, hold on to your seats because we just found a stunning V-Spec N1 model finished in white, worth as much as some of today’s greatest supercars. As previously stated, this car traded hands for $325k, and you can understand why just by looking at it (if you know your GT-Rs, that is).
It’s got the adjustable rear wing, black-painted mirrors, xenon headlights, custom color-matched Nismo-style side skirt extensions, black 19” Nismo alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza rubber, plus BC Racing adjustable coilovers and an R35 big brake kit with gold-painted Brembo calipers.
Meanwhile, interior highlights include the manually adjustable sport seats, Nismo-branded floor mats, resin-wrapped armrest and handbrake lever, leather-wrapped steering wheel with red contrast stitching, a replacement Nismo gauge cluster, and more. It’s obviously worth noting that this is a right-hand-drive vehicle, but there’s not much you can do about it – its new owner almost certainly doesn’t mind. There’s also no radio and no air-con, but again, that’s what makes this car special.
As for what’s going on in terms of performance, well, this GT-R is powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.6-liter RB26DETT inline-six unit, factory-rated at 276 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The power is then sent to the wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Personally, I think that Midnight Purple one looked better because of its spectacular colorway, but this one here is clearly the more appealing specification.

Best-looking R34?
I mean, it’s close. We haven’t seen many fifth-gen GT-R models that look noticeably better than this gorgeous white one. However, we did show you a Midnight Purple R34 back in October of last year – that car ended up selling for $96,000.Personally, I think that Midnight Purple one looked better because of its spectacular colorway, but this one here is clearly the more appealing specification.
