UK Infiniti Center Inaugurated

A special evening gala took place in Thames Valley to mark the official opening of UK’s first Infiniti Center, shrouding the city in purple lights and the sound of Japanese drums, while 200 guests attended the event on the outskirts of Reading.

The new building was declared open by its managing director, Paul Atkinson, while famous English cook James Martin entertained the audience talking about his other passion of his life, cars. In fact, Martin owns several supercars, has a racing license and has driven a Formula One car.

Of course, all the five Infiniti models were on display, and, as one of the guests could not wait for his car to be delivered next week, requested to drive one of the showroom models home after the event.

Traditional Japanese crafts were also a highlight of the event. Apart from the Taiko drummers and purple light show (purple is the imperial color of Japan as well as Infiniti’s trademark hue) guests were treated to a display of Japanese calligraphy known as Shodo.

Every Infiniti model has its own Shodo brush stroke art, while the 200 guests can ask to have their names in Shodo, too. London, Birmingham and Glasgow are next to turn purple, in 2010.

The Reading Centre is just one of the nine showrooms due to open in UK by the end of 2011. Next year new Centres will open,as said, in London, Birmingham and Glasgow. In 2011, a further four Infiniti Centres are planned for Stockport and Leeds, with two more in London serving the north and south of the capital.
