It had not been known whether Dacia would build the new version of the Sandero hatchback, with its steering wheel on the right, for UK customers, in its main plant, in Mioveni, Romania, or the Tangiers plant, in Morocco. Well, now we know that the UK-bound Sandero will, in fact, be built in Romania, alongside the new Logan and Sandero Stepway.
Dacia currently builds the Lodgy, Dokker and Dokker van in Morocco, while the UK-bound Duster SUV will not be built in Romania, but rather in India, alongside other Renault models, destined for the local market. This piece of news means that Dacia’s main plant will be able to export 30,000 more cars per year, bringing in an additional €300-million in revenue.

Dacia plans to sell at least 30,000 Sanderos in the UK in 2013, and with the Brits’ enthusiasm for the Romanian low-cost car staying quite high, it is very likely that they will achieve the desired figure. We say the Sandero can take on the UK market!
