The current generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has brought a number of premieres for the Stuttgart manufacturer, most of them being ground-breaking safety and comfort features.
One of those premieres was the fact that both AMG versions of the new S-Class were launched before the flagship model, even though one of them is actually based on the upcoming V12 variant.
We are of course talking about the Mercedes-Benz S 600 flagship, which MB Passion reports that is apparently set to be unveiled at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January.
Oddly, despite being based on it, its S 65 AMG big brother was already unveiled simultaneously at the LA Auto Show and the Tokyo Motor Show, while the S 600 was apparently shown in Guard form only at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Powered by yet another version of the 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 codenamed M275, the new S 600 V222 will bring slightly more power than the 517 hp featured by the previous generation, while its fuel consumption will drop to that of a V8. The V12 pedigree remains the same.
