It's been almost three years since BMW started making the second-generation M4, and we've started getting used to that bucktooth grille. We can't say we like it yet, but give it a few more years, and we think this controversially-styled car might follow in the footsteps of the Chris Bangle-era E60 5er, as it will probably age quite fine.
Thus, it could be safe to assume that BMW's decision to give it an oversized kidney grille, and to stand behind this controversial part, will eventually pay off. And if you're still not fans of this design, then there are several tuners out there that would gladly take your money in exchange for a new front bumper that features a smaller grille.

BMW has certainly nailed the boy-racer looks of the second-gen M4 if you're into that, and with a few additional aftermarket touches, it can become even more noticeable. Take the one pictured above in the gallery, for instance, which immediately stands out due to a few modifications that appear to have been inspired by the track-ready M4 CSL.

It features a tweaked grille, a bigger apron attached to the bumper that equips it from the factory, yellow daytime running lights integrated into the headlamps, and a vented hood. The BMW roundel still decorates the nose, though with a black and white look this time around, and the M logo still sits on the grille. The side skirts are a bit more muscular, and at the back, it has a new diffuser and different mufflers that may or may or may not be part of a sportier exhaust system. A large wing was attached to the trunk lid, which otherwise has an identical black and white emblem to the one at the front.

Sporting a gold finish, which goes perfectly with the lime green overall look of the car, the wheels have a concave design and a Y-spoke pattern. They're the work of AL13, and they're called the R90. Made of aerospace-grade forged aluminum, the wheels can fit a wide variety of rides, and they are available in diameters ranging from 18 to 24 inches. A quick look on the wheel maker's website reveals that each alloy starts at $2,650 and goes up to at least $3,550 for the largest offering. The wheels can be had in different finishes, including black, silver, gold, white, blue, and red, so name it, and the hue is probably available.

There is no word on the engine of the pictured M4, so we will remind you that the Competition variant has 503 hp (510 ps/305 kW) on tap and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. The turbo'd 3.0-liter straight-six engine allows it to hit 60 mph (97 kph) in 3.4 seconds with the xDrive AWD system and in 3.8 seconds when it comes to the RWD model.
