The only official use of the word tron in the automotive industry comes from Audi and their e-tron electrified vehicles. However, there's a cooler and probably more famous tron car series coming hot and fast from the underground tuning scene.
Somebody had the bright idea of turning supercars into lookalikes of light cycles from the Tron movie, using glow-in-the-dark detailing and chrome wrap. We've featured quite a few Tron cars over the past couple of months, but this one has to be coolest ever.
It's been photographed in underground storage/parking somewhere in Guangzhau, a large city in China with a population of about 14 million. Our first reaction was a very loud "holy mother of god" and we assure you this isn't just a computer edition trick, though photoshop might have been used to enhanced the photos.
Every major line on the car is covered in a sort of floorescent tape that gives a yellow glow. The GT-R looks like a sketched version of itself as even the wheels, the mirrors or the gas cap were targeted. Underneath that tape, the GT-R is covered in chrome for even more visual impact.
For those of you who haven't watched Tron, Light Cycles are the main mode of transportation in a futuristic digital universe. Some are designed for battle and leave a solid jetwall in their wake. The bright not only characterize the vehicles in the Digital Universe, but also the programs (which look like people) and the disc weapons they use to fight.
