Toyota UK has provided Co-wheels car club a Prius Plug-in model for a new transport initiative, giving rail travelers access to economical and environmental way of transportation.
Holders of train operator Southern’s new smartcard will gain access to the Prius Plug-in at Lewes railway station in Sussex to continue their next leg of the journey.

“This initiative promises to demonstrate the key qualities of Prius Plug-in and Toyota’s world-leading hybrid technology. It’s a best-of-both-worlds solution that is kinder to the environment without demanding compromises from the motorist.” said Toyota Fleet Sales manager Stuart Ferma.

Using the Plug-in, will help travelers reduce their carbon footprint, offering zero-emissions driving when it runs only on electric power. Users can also take longer trips, as the gasoline engine will kick in and aid the electric motor when the batteries run out.
