The next two rounds of the World Endurance Championship won’t see both Toyota’s TS030 Hybrid prototypes, as the automaker decided to run only one of them.
Actually, Toyota was not intending to run both racecars in the season at all - it initially made one full-season entry and planned running a second car in the first three rounds, but WEC bosses managed to convince the racing team in bringing both vehicles in the interest of the championship.
As a result, the following stages in this year’s championship will be raced with a single TS030, having its best drivers to put their skills at work. Davidson, Sarrazin and Buemi are chosen for the job, while Wurz and Lapierre will focus on development testing and simulations for next year’s season.
