Following a disappointing 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans campaign, where they crashed both of their TS030 Hybrid vehicles, Toyota managed to bounce back with an updated version for the 2013 event.
Debuted on Tuesday at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, the 2013 Toyota TS030 Hybrid will of course tackle the entire World Endurance Championship in the LMP1 category with its main rival, the Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro.
The new Japanese race car uses a revised version of the Toyota Racing hybrid setup, featuring 3.4-liter V8 and a super capacitor-based system that delivers a total power of 830 HP. The TS030 also comes with revised aerodynamics and updated chassis.
For the 2013 season, Toyota fielded two cars that will be driven by Alexander Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre, Kazuki Nakajima, and Anthony Davidson, Stephane Sarrazin, Sebastien Buemi respectively.
The Japanese automaker will begin testing the TS030 Hybrid tomorrow.
