The first qualification round for the 24 Hours of Le Mans was pretty tough for all the racing teams, including Toyota, which had some problems again.
The qualifying day was interrupted by three red flags taking down half of the intended racing time and a rain shower in the fourth hour of free practice session.

Also, Toyota’s No.8 had to call it a day after Sebastien Buemi behind the wheel had to stop due to a driveline malfunction, placing the team on 6th place with 3:30.841 best time. The other car, No.7, managed to achieve a 4th place with 3:26.676, just under the Audi team that got the first three places.

“We were looking towards the race rather than qualifying today,” said Toyota racing driver Stephane Sarrazin. “It is a pity we did not get a chance to do any real qualifying run but the car feels good, it is stable and we all like the balance. I am confident we have a good set up for the race. Naturally it is not great to stop during the session but it’s better to have this problem on Wednesday rather than in the race.”
