Toyota Motor Europe has released its third quarter sales result of 216,837 vehicles sold including Lexus.
The number represents a 5 percent increase from the same period of last year, a level of sales that has been achieved for the first time in four years.
"Our sales performance has gone crescendo in Q3 as two key new models built-in Europe, the Auris Touring Sports and Corolla, started hitting the showrooms, with our market share crossing the 5% mark for the first time since 2009.” said TME senior vice president for sales and marketing Daniele Schillaci. “In addition to nearly 20% increase in hybrid sales year-on-year, this puts us on track to deliver more vehicles in Europe in 2013 versus last year, which represents a good performance given the overall market decline."
The UK-built Toyota Auris Touring Sports increased sales of the Auris model range by 66% in Q3, while the new generation Corolla spurred sales by 24%.
