Toyota Motor Europe (TME) today posted increased 2013 sales of 847,540 Toyota and Lexus vehicles, an increase of 9,596 units compared to the year before.
Reaching its third year of growth now, increased hybrid sales boosted Toyota Europe’s market share up to 4.7 percent in 2013, with an all-time hybrid sales record of 156,863 (including Lexus), translating into a 43 % increase over 2012.
Hybrid vehicle production for Toyota in Europe has doubled, reaching a record of 116,383 units. The Yaris Hybrid doubled its year-on-year sales, reaching 49,774 units in 2013. The Toyota Auris Hybrid sales went up by 66% topping 39,348, while the Touring Sports Hybrid version got sold in 15,175 units.
Per total, the Auris range sales went up by 59 percent, registering 131,928 units sold in 2013. The top sales chart continues with the Toyota Corolla, which sold 67,987 units, the Verso with 39,320, while the new Toyota RAV4 sales went up by 42% reaching 95,168 units delivered to their happy new owners.
