United Kingdom customers appear to have quickly responded to the release of the new Lexus IS and RX models, registering higher sales in 2013.
Comparing with 2012, the fourth-generation Lexus IS, which also came with a hybrid powertrain for the first time ever, posted a sale increase of almost 90 percent. This can be explained by the new model’s striking looks, high equipment specifications and the newly-fitted hybrid powertrain that spares customers of car taxes.
The mid-life refresh from last summer for the Lexus RX also represented a key factor for boosting the sales, securing 7 percent more vehicles delivered in 2013 comparing with the previous wheels.
Total Lexus UK sales in 2013 raised to 9,014 units, representing a 0.4 percent share of the total market.
