As with its parent automaker Toyota, Lexus is on its way up and reported increased sales both for the last month and for the overall year.
With the same number of selling days in 2013 and 2012, Lexus reported annual sales of 273,847, representing a 12.2 percent increase over last year on both a DSR and raw-volume. December 2013 sales registered 34,757 vehicles, a 18.1 percent increase over the same period of last year on a DSR basis and a 13.6 percent gain on a raw-volume basis.

“Lexus had its best sales month in seven years and the luxury segment outperformed the overall auto industry in December” said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “We expect the luxury market will continue to expand in 2014.”

The Lexus ES is the volume car leader for December, with 8,213 units sold. Representing almost 30 percent more than the same period in 2012, the ES got sold in 72,581 units in 2013. The all-new IS posts triple-digit gains in December and a 26 percent increase for the year.
