Tour Central Switzerland in a Ferrari 458 Italia

Supercar touring company Loeven Sportwagen Touren is offering enthusiasts the chance to take the new Ferrari 458 Italia to a spin in Central Switzerland this September. The three-day trip will include a driving tour of the Rigi, Reuss and Rütli Oath regions through famous mountain passes like the Grimsel, Gotthard, Furka, Nufenen and Ächerli.

According to Luxist, this route is a quite interesting one, with a single-track lane and sharp ascents, hairpin turns and narrow bends.

However, the company also offers customers the option of touring the same route on a Ferrari Dino or even allows them to bring their own car along as long as they think they can keep up with the rest of the convoy.

The Italia is powered by a 4.5l V8 direct injection engine fitted with the traditional flat-plane crankshaft. It has a breathtaking output of 570 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.

The unit is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and together boasts the car from naught to sixty in just 3.4 seconds and keeps on going until it reaches 325 km/h (200 mph).

The car boasts the manufacturer’s Vehicle Dynamic Assistance (VDA), which monitors the operating parameters of the engine, gearbox, tires and brakes.

The VDA can be enabled in three different settings (Race, CT off and CTS off), allowing the driver to correctly identify the best operating conditions for the car.

The tour with a Ferrari 458 Italia costs about $6,500 and the Dino adds about $3,200 on the $2,800 per person base price. According to the company, entries are limited to about ten spots.
