Ferrari 458 Italia New Pics, Interior Revealed

Italian manufacturer Ferrari is unveiling, bit by bit, their new 458 Italia, the replacement of the F430. Whereas all the technical details, the exterior look and the way the car behaves on the road have already been detailed, the interior was left behind. Until now, as Ferrari has just released a few shots showing the interior of the car, prior to it being seen and felt at next month's Frankfurt Auto Show.

The most sought after piece of information, the console display, has now been revealed. The dashboard of the 458 features Ferrari's Vehicle Dynamic Assistance (VDA), which monitors the operating parameters of the engine, gearbox, tires and brakes.

The VDA can be enabled in three different settings (Race, CT off and CTS off), allowing the driver to correctly identify the best operating conditions for the car. Additionally, three status settings are available: warm-up means the operating temperature is too low, go, which means the car and engine are in great shape and over, which warns temperature in one or more components needs to be adjusted.

The dashboard instrument cluster is actually divided in two, with satellite pods to the left and right of the dash. On the left cluster, the driver can find cruise control, buttons for choosing the video setting of the left-hand dash TFT screen and the on-board computer interface.

On the right cluster, Ferrari place infotainment controls: Bluetooth connection, sat-nav, digital speedometers and rear parking camera.

Of course, Ferrari already assured us the design and feel of the interior have been enhanced with the help of Michael Schumacher and the above described dashboard layout is "the direct result of racing practice."
