Before introducing the F-Type in 2013, which is still around these days with the assembly taking place in the United Kingdom, Jaguar's sports model was called the XK.
The British car manufacturer made two generations. The first one came out between 1996 and 2005, and the second was made from 2005 to 2014. V8 was the sole firepower, although the exact lump varied depending on the specification.

The pictured one is a 2012 Jaguar XKR that comes with a 5.0-liter supercharged mill paired with an automatic transmission, which was good for over 500 horsepower back in the day, a figure that is still impressive in 2024. It needed around four and a half seconds to sprint to sixty-two mph (100 kph), and given its condition, it should still be able to inject its occupants with adrenaline at a hard push of the throttle.

Three owners in twelve years is a decent number for such a ride, which is a California car, according to the ad. It has almost 51,500 miles (~82,800 km) on the odo, features a black exterior with a matching ragtop and a black interior, and it doesn't seem to have been modified at all. The vendor describes it as "a superbly preserved" vehicle that promises a "thrilling and refined" driving experience.

What else should you know about it? That it appears to be ready to hit the road again with no work whatsoever. As for the final piece of information that would interest a serious buyer, that would be the asking price. Garage Kept Motors is asking $29,900 to let it go, which doesn't make it a bargain. One could land a far cheaper copy, but then again, it looks very good for a twelve-year-old car, and this is its strongest selling point.

By comparison, a brand-new 2024 Jaguar F-Type starts at $73,400 and is similarly fast. You could land a 2024 Ford Mustang for a similar amount, although you will have to fork out a bit more. The entry-level EcoBoost Fastback starts at $30,920, excluding destination. The most affordable open-top version of the Dearborn company's pony car comes from $39,020 with the same 2.3L four-pot under the hood and $51,730 with the Coyote V8 engine.

The vendor welcomes pre-purchase inspections, so if you want to see this Jag' in the flesh before making an offer, you know what to do. However, you will have to schedule an appointment for that. So, if you had around $30,000 lying around and were shopping for a fun open-top model, would you blow it on this 2012 Jaguar XKR? Drop a line below and let us know what you think about this machine and if it is an appealing proposal to you.
