The world of wireless Android Auto adapters keeps growing, especially as generic Chinese brands join the fight, often with significantly cheaper devices.
However, if you're in the market for a device that can guarantee a stable and reliable experience, the available options are rather limited. AAWireless, the device that literally pioneered this product category, is often the preferred choice.

Motorola's MA1, the first device that received Google's backing (it was announced during the company's I/O conference in 2022), is a worthy alternative. And thanks to a major discount now live on Amazon, you can get it at nearly the lowest price since launch.

The MA1 is available today for just $63.99, a 29% discount from the typical $89.99 price tag. Motorola's wireless Android Auto adapter is one of the most expensive choices in its product category, especially after AAWireless received a permanent discount to drop to a significantly lower price, though the device is no longer available on Android. You can still get it from the official website in the United States.

Meanwhile, the MA1 is in stock at Amazon with the lowest price in 30 days. Customers who order it today should receive it tomorrow, so it makes for an excellent Christmas gift for Android Auto users.

Motorola's MA1 offers a straightforward method of converting Android Auto wired to wireless. It uses the same approach as the rest of the adapters, so it connects to your phone via Bluetooth and to the car through the USB port powering Android Auto. The Android Auto experience is transferred by the mobile device to the adapter wirelessly, which in turn forwards the data to the head unit using the wired connection.

The MA1 has offered a refined experience during my time with it, though I noticed an occasional slow startup, likely caused by the multi-stage connection between the phone and the head unit. When you turn on the engine, the phone must connect to the adapter via Bluetooth, in which case you could notice a delay of up to 20 seconds.

Otherwise, everything seems to work correctly, with crashes happening occasionally. I've seen buyers complaining of occasional hardware problems, including fried devices, though it doesn't seem to be a widespread bug so far.

It's unclear how long the discount will be available, so if you're interested in the MA1, now's the best time to get it. The package includes the adapter and a gel pad whose role is to keep the device in place wherever you install it in your car. This way, you won't experience any disconnects caused by the wireless Android Auto adapter sliding out of place, so you should make sure you don't let it hang when the car is in motion.
