Many of the millionaires and billionaires of the planet are also serial yacht owners, and they are constantly looking for the latest, most advanced, and most spectacular luxury toys to add to their collection of status-symbol possessions. Project Setteesettanta is a groundbreaking superyacht with lightweight construction and unique design features that will make a seasoned yachtsman very happy once it's complete and delivered in 2026.
For now, Heesen Yachts, the renowned Dutch shipyard that is behind the game-changing design, has announced that it has laid the keel of the new 187-foot (57-meter) custom superyacht at its building facility in Oss, Netherlands. The milestone was celebrated with a ceremony that took place on December 14 in the presence of the yacht's owners, who had a traditional good luck coin welded onto their future vessel.

Project Setteesettanta (which means "seven and seventy" in Italian) is a unique superyacht with a striking design and structural innovations that is bound to make a statement in the luxury marine sector. It boasts a sleek all-aluminum exterior with a novel near-vertical bow and fast-displacement hull penned by Frank Laupman and the team at Omega Architects.

The design marks some firsts for the Heesen yard, being the first yacht in its fleet to have the bridge located on the fourth deck. Despite this design choice, the vessel retains a streamlined profile thanks to the inconspicuous mast designed by Laupman and the flat Star Link communication panels that will replace the traditional domes.

The interior design is the work of Cristiano Gatto, who has also been entrusted as the owner's advisor during the build. This is not the first collaboration between Heesen and Cristiano Gatto Design, as the two have worked together on a dozen other builds. Since this yacht is a custom creation, many of the interior design elements will be bespoke and carefully selected by the owner and his team, but Gatto promises a luxurious ambiance with unique components, as he intentionally avoided mass-produced pieces.

"This new project possesses all the characteristics to become the crown jewel in Heesen's fleet, and I'm sure it will create many ripples, just like Crazy Me did ten years ago," commented Gatto. "Thanks to its ultra-detailed design and engineering approach, Setteesettanta will be a one-of-a-kind yacht on the water."

The generous interior volume of 920 GT allows for the inclusion of plenty of luxury amenities. The owners have opted for a commodious master suite on the upper deck that will offer complete privacy and sweeping 180-degree views of the surrounding ocean. They will also benefit from a private terrace spanning no less than 2,150 square feet that can also double as a touch-and-go helipad.

Guests stepping onboard Setteesettanta will also enjoy sumptuous accommodation in one VIP cabin strategically positioned on the starboard side of the main deck for comfort and privacy and two twins and two doubles located on the lower deck. An elegant oval staircase will allow guests to easily navigate all four decks.

A standout feature of this custom yacht is the open transom with a double staircase flanking a stunning 13-foot (4-meter) infinity pool. The swimming terrace features a hydraulic transformer platform to ensure easy access to the water.

Other highlights include a gym and an elegant and luxurious dining area adjacent to the aft terrace. It's located right next to the wide sliding doors, creating a seamless connection between the interior and exterior space.

As for propulsion, the bespoke Project Setteesettanta superyacht will be equipped with a conventional propulsion system and two compact MTU 16V2000M72 (1,440 kW) diesel engines that will endow it with a maximum speed of 18 knots and a transatlantic range of 3,900 nautical miles (7,222 km) at 12 knots.
