If you’re looking to take your family out for a picnic in a really fast SUV, there are plenty of options to choose from. One of them comes straight from Chrysler’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) brand, who are offering Hemi-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee that’s good for 470 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.
The 6.4-liter V8 mill enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in just 4.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 160 mph (257 km/h). Once put on the drag strip, the SRT8 needs 13.5 seconds to complete the quarter mile. Not bad for an SUV, right? In fact, we’d says it’s not bad at all for a vehicle that’s priced from $64,000.

But believe it or not, the aforementioned SUV is not the fastest Grand Cherokee out there. The one you’re about to see in the video below takes only 10.4 seconds to run the 1320 and starts braking at 128.85 miles per hour (207.36 km/h).

OK, so we’re not talking about a factory-built vehicle, but it still counts. And you know what’s interesting about this vehicle? It’s all motor. That’s right, no supercharging, no turbocharging. Just a 6.4-liter V8 stroked to 7.2 liters and a drivertrain that’s been converted to rear-wheel drive.

There’s no info about how many horses are pushing this awesome Jeep down the strip, but the wheelie at the beginning has 600+ hp written all over it. It’s also the fastest naturally aspirated Grand Cherokee in the world. Watch it flex its muscles in the following video.
