Dodge is a mere shadow of its former self, as after pulling the plug on the Charger and Challenger at the end of 2023, it has only two models in its lineup. One of them is the 14-year-old Durango, and the other is a rebadged Alfa Romeo Tonale that's sold under the Hornet moniker.
But that wasn't always the case, as the (now) Stellantis-owned brand used to have a plethora of cool rides in its portfolio, including a large sport utility vehicle that was built on a short wheelbase version of the Ram pickup chassis. Yep, it's none other than the Dodge Ramcharger, a model that stayed in production from 1974 to 2001.

A rival to the Chevrolet K5 Blazer and the era's Ford Bronco, the Dodge Ramcharger still gets the hearts of certain enthusiasts racing. And if you're one of them, which you probably are, otherwise you wouldn't be reading these lines, then stick around, as we found an example that's worthy of your attention, as you could park it in your garage for less than a new base Hornet.

This 1992 Dodge Ramcharger is part of the second generation built from 1981 to 1993. It's related to the era's Dodge Ram and came with two V8 motors. The lesser offering used a 5.2L unit with 170 hp, and the punchiest variant featured a 5.9L mill that was good for 193 hp. Several manual transmissions were offered throughout the years, with three, four, and five gears, joined by a three-speed auto, and it is the latter that equips this copy, hooked up to the larger displacement lump.

The Kentucky truck has a white exterior finish that is still shiny even after all these years. It comes with multiple chrome accents and rides on chunky rubber for aided traction off the lit path. The interior is gray, and it has the factory air conditioning on deck. The vendor describes the cabin as being comfortable and functional, with the attention to detail being evident and "reflecting the care and maintenance this vehicle has received over the years."

Dodge Ramchargers are anything but costly in today's crazy used car market, and this one makes no exception. With 114,229 miles (183,834 km) indicated by the odometer, it is for sale, with Garage Kept Motors being in charge of finding it a new home. The ad, which can be accessed here, reveals a buy-it-now price of $27,900, making it more affordable than the entry-level Dodge Hornet, which comes with an MSRP of $31,400.

Sure, getting the new crossover instead of this old truck would save you the hassle of many sleepless nights, but if you had to choose between the two, which one would you buy?
