The kind of people who take matters into their own hands, lock themselves into the workshop and three unslept days later emerge with the solution are slowly going extinct.
The kind of satisfaction you get from building something from scratch with your bare hands is hard to match, especially if said thing also turns out to be useful to somebody. If it’s beautiful as well, then all the better, but aesthetics are secondary.

That’s what this man must have kept repeating to himself as he was turning his trusted Ford Explorer into a right-hand-drive vehicle. At this point, you’re probably wondering why on Earth was he doing such a thing, and you’re coming up with explanations like “moving to the UK or Australia” or he was getting ready to celebrate “Opposite Day.”

The truth is, he was merely trying to make his life easier. You see, the man used this 1999 Explorer as a mail delivery vehicle, and so it made sense for the driver to be on the curb side. And since buying an Explorer from the UK or other countries driving on the left was out of the question, our man had to get his hands dirty.

It looks like at least one of his kids’ bicycles had to be put to sleep, but at least he got the job done. The Ford Explorer could now be driven from what was once the passenger’s seat. Yeah, the instrument cluster is still on the other side of the dashboard, but so what? It’s a mail delivery vehicle, it’ll just drive slowly. It’s not like anyone is in any hurry to get their mail.

The car is now on sale on e-bay, yet that’s not because he has a new project coming up, but because he has retired. You can find it on e-bay and it costs a mere $1,500. The owner listed that the Explorer hasn’t had any accidents, but looking at how this botched up conversion was done, we’d tend to disagree.
