Probably a lot of you folks that are reading our stories have an e-Bay account. And we bet you’ve seen some weird stuff being auctioned off over there, including wrecked, plain ugly or just out of the ordinary vehicles.
Well, we’ve already seen more than we can remember, but there’s one we’ve stumbled upon that just takes the cake: a street-legal bumper car. Yep, we’re talking about a car that was modified to look like those small electric cars we used to bump ourselves into at town fairs.
The unique (d’oh!) street-legal bumper car in question was built around a 1984 Dodge Colt and still has its original 1.6-liter engine that’s said to return about 34 miles per gallon. It has an eight-speed transmission, A/C, a $1,500 stereo and a weather cover. Basically all you need to go outand bump other cars off the road and have some fun, ‘cause you won’t be able to do your shopping with it...
Listed in St.George, Utah, the 1984 Dodger Car grabbed $2,938 at the end of the bidding process, but that wasn’t enough for the seller to let it go. The question is: who would buy such a thing? And why?
