It's that season of the year again, which means Tim Burton's movies will resurface briefly, horror films will be featured at a theatre near you, and video games are getting a festive makeover. Aside from the sacred Hallow's End celebration in World of Warcraft, Grand Theft Auto Online also plans to spread holiday frights and nightly horrors. Let's check them out.
For the next four weeks, Southern San Andreas is stricken with terror when bloodthirsty characters come down knocking on everyone's door. You will have to fight off these spooky apparitions like in a bad '80s cop movie where you encounter Slashers, Clowns, and the most terrifying creature of all... FIB agents.
Apparently, Rockstar Games wants to scare us by summoning "bone-chilling events, paranormal activity, ghastly collectibles," and more such thrilling experiences. Whatever they might mean.
But setting aside the cheesy antics, let's get real for a minute or two and see what's actually on the table, aside from candy, of course.
If you take part in the Halloween-themed Adversary and Survival modes, including Condemned and Alien Survivals, you will get Double Rewards. Judgment Day gives out Triple Rewards, so look out for that. Next, there's twice the GTA$ and RP on missions like Special Cargo Sell for the black market.
Double XP and whatnot is excellent, but it's not the Devil's Mask excellent. By simply playing GTA Online this week, you'll get the Scarlet Vintage Devil Mask, which won't turn you into Stanley Ipkiss's The Mask but it has its charms.
If you're into sports cars, you might want to visit your old pal, Simeon. His showroom is filled with discounts, like the Pegassi Torero XO (Super, 40% off), Pegassi Reaper (Super, 40% off), Pegassi Infernus Classic (Sports Classic, 40% off), Pegassi Monroe (Sports Classic), and Pegassi Oppressor (Motorcycle).
