Tesla Cybertruck reservation holder and long-time Tesla customer has just released a book for kids about the Cybetruck. Public school teacher Diego Martinez called his book The Ugly Truckling: The Story of My Cybertruck. He says that there are people who hate the Cybertruck less or not at all after reading his book.
The Ugly Truckling is a 40-page educational story, which brings a young girl into the spotlight on her journey to discover the true values of a modern marvel. The modern marvel in the story is the Tesla Cybertruck.

Her father gets his Cybertruck delivered and drives it home, but the girl could not be less impressed and interested in the vehicle. The unfamiliarity of the unconventional design makes her say that the Cybertruck is the ugly duckling. But when she starts learning about what the electric pickup truck can do, she starts finding it exciting.

The Amazon sales announcement describes the book as a must-have for kids of all ages. It is a story of acceptance, innovation and the power of technology.

The book, written by Diego Martinez, is available for sale on Amazon for $12.99. Those who want to buy the Kindle version will have to pay $4.99.

"It's about being who you are and having the guts to act on what you observe," said the author himself in a conversation with Teslarati, admitting that it has been a joy to get the book into people's hands, both Cybetruck fans and haters.

The book depicts the pickup truck with controversial design through the eyes of a child and comes right in time for the holidays.

Martinez is a Cybertruck reservation holder since the first day the truck was available, in November 2019, with the number of people interested in purchasing one going above the 2 million mark. Back then, those who wanted to reserve the model had to pay a $100 refundable deposit.

In 2023, the deposit is $250. Four years ago, the starting price was $39,900. Now, the Cybertruck starts at $60,990. But the first variants available to customers, the Foundation Series, are almost double that price: it is $120,000.

Martinez is also waiting for the delivery of a Tesla Model S. He is reservation holder number 580.

As reported by Teslarati, Elon Musk himself received a copy of the book in early December. But there is still a long way to go before Diego Martinez receives his Cybertruck. He is not among those willing to pay $120,000 for the Foundation Series.

An award-winning public school educator in southern Colorado, Diego Martinez reunited his passion for cars and for education in The Ugly Truckling. He enjoys it when people tell him they stopped hating the Cybertruck and judge it less.
