American carmaker Dodge started 2024 with a very exciting piece of news for fans of HEMI-powered SUVs: it let loose the Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI Last Call. The news did have a darker side to it, though, as the model is to mark the final year of the American SUV with this type of engine under the hood. And now, as we step into the fifth month of the year, those waiting to get their hands on one can finally do so.
Dodge announced this week that the Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI Last Call is now available at dealerships, but if you plan on getting one, you should hurry. There will only be 1,000 of these potent SUVs available, and they'll probably sell like hotcakes.

Knowing this Dodge decided to reboot its Horsepower Locator tool, a portal that will help customers not only find their Durango based on criteria like vehicle color and zip code radius, but also know on a weekly basis how many of these vehicles are left, are where to find them. Once the dream SUV is identified, you can place an order for it.

The Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI is one of the most exciting propositions ever included in the Dodge SUV family. First and foremost that's because the thing packs under the hood the 392ci (6.4-liter) HEMI V8 engine rated at 475 horsepower.

But that's not all. You see, the AlcHEMI is a Last Call model, meaning it's meant to celebrate the end of production for this particular type of Durango – something that will occur in July. As such, it's packed full with all sorts of extras meant to make it a tad more appealing.

The list of goodies starts with the wheels, which in this case are of the SRT variety and sized at 20 inches. Behind them, Dodge installed yellow SRT Brembo brakes, a color that's also to be seen on the dual exterior stripes running the length of the SUV, the fender decals, and even on the inside, in the form of stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and shifter.

The Durango rocks black exhaust tips, but also a great deal of special badges and logos spread all over: on the fenders, liftgate, seats, and steering wheel. The interior uniqueness of the SUV is also enhanced by using forged carbon fiber elements.

Dodge is offering the AlcHEMI Last Call in four exterior colors, namely Diamond Black, Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray and White Knuckle. The starting price for the model was set at $89,795, not including the $1,595 destination fee.

The Durango SRT 392 in this configuration is not the only one meant to take a place in Dodge's Last Call lineup. More models will be released throughout the year to "commemorate the final calendar year of V8 HEMI engine production for the Dodge Durango."

Up next to get the Last Call editions will be the Durango R/T and its 5.7-liter HEMI engine, as well as the SRT Hellcat, the most powerful SUV ever made. Details on these two models are yet to be released, but we do know they will be in the 2025 model year, and production for them will wrap up at the end of 2024.

Until then, if you plan on getting your hands on a 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI you can do that here.
