Gulfstream's G700 goes above and beyond quite literally. If last year it showed us the many ways in which it was better than the competition, this year it took things to another level by exceeding its own targets.
It's hard to pick our favorite from the Gulfstream lineup. Is it the award-winning G600 or the ultra-long-range G800? One thing's for sure: the aviation giant's new flagship, the G700, is truly worthy of this status.

The flight test program isn't over yet but continues to reach new milestones. Earlier this year, Gulfstream confirmed that the G700 had already secured more than 45 city-pair speed records. Two G700 aircraft (each fully outfitted) have been flying around the world, accumulating a total of 246,000 nautical miles (455,592 km).

The manufacturer is calling this "one of the most extensive flight test programs," and for good reason. The G700 happens to be the first business aircraft to undergo the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) certification process after the new Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act of 2020. This translates to more rigorous standards and higher expectations.

This challenge was a great opportunity for the G700 to show what it can do. In addition to the impressive records, it now surpassed its own targeted performance.

Gulfstream's claims are bold: its flagship aircraft had increased its range by a whopping 250 nautical miles (463 km) at different speeds. More specifically, its range is now 7,750 nautical miles/14,353 km at Mach 0.85 and 6,650 nm/12,316 km at Mach 0.90.

Its maximum operating speed also increased from Mach 0.925 to Mach 0.935.

Passengers can even expect more comfort. Already announced as the lowest in business aviation, the G700's cabin altitude dropped to 2,840 feet/866 meters while flying at 41,000 feet/12,497 meters.

If performance isn't enough to dazzle everyone, the G700 also sports one of the most luxurious interiors. Its cabin includes ultra-comfortable seats (with an award-winning design), a grand suite with a fabulous fixed bed, and a spacious lavatory with a shower and a full-size vanity. The jet's galley is also above standard, claiming to be the only ultra-galley across the industry, boasting more than 10 feet (3 meters) of counter space.

During the world tour, Gulfstream customers got to experience this luxury firsthand. Flying in a G700 also comes with great views, significantly lower noise levels, and fresh air at all times.

A great deal of the jet's outstanding performance is owed to the Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engine. Designed to power both the G700 and G800, the engine obtained EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency)' certification in the fall of 2022. Paired with improvements in aerodynamic design, the Rolls-Royce engine doesn't just upgrade performance but also promises increased fuel efficiency, resulting in lower CO2 emission levels.
