The Dutch Offer 150 hp Renault Twingo

There are good things going on in Holland, because if you happen to live there and want to buy a cool hot hatch, you can now get the Renault Twingo R150R thanks to “some over zealous” Renault dealers.

As you can now realize, the R150R is called so because of its 150 hp output, coming out of  a 1.6-liter engine. This signifies an increase of 22 hp over the standard 1.6 Twingo RS, making the little bandit good for 210km/h and a good acceleration of 8.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

The engine isn't the only thing that has been upgraded on this car. The chassis has been tweaked a little bit and it now bears the Cup signature (only hot hatch Renaults have this). This model is a Dutch sales and marketing exercise via the Kerkhof & Visscher Renault dealer network.

The aforementioned source also reports that the car is being offered as standard in two forms, the GT and Cup version, with the latter allowing you the option of removing the back seats and other such features, allowing the car to lose 20 kilograms.

Last week, the Twingo dCi 85 was announced and it appears to be an economical version of the standard versions with lower CO2 emissions.

The engine is equipped with a low inertia turbo that gives you immediate response even when driving at low speeds in every traffic situation. The tiny engine is fitted with a second -generation 1,600 bar common-rail injection that offers more precise fuel management.

The Twingo is being offered with a choice of four petrol engines the 1.2 60 HP, the 1.2 16V 75 HP, the TCe 100 (Twingo GT only) and the 1.6 16V 133 HP (Twingo Renault Sport only).
