No single lifestyle can hold the same appeal for all people, so it would be unfair to expect it of downsizing, tiny living, modern nomadism, or however else you want to call it. But this park model tiny house sure is trying to make the impossible happen.
In many territories, tiny houses have already established themselves as solid alternatives to traditional housing thanks to their much-touted ability to travel the country with ease, their compact footprint that brings reduced monthly costs, and their apparent affordability. "Conditions may apply" comes in the fine print of some of these mobile homes and for a variety of reasons.

Park model tinies always come with that asterisk; they're not as mobile as smaller variants, don't have a compact footprint, and they are not affordable in the most basic understanding of the term. They're the most luxurious and fancy version of downsizing, sometimes verging on luxury and making zero compromises in terms of size, comfort, and features.

Movable Roots is a Central Florida-based builder that makes anything that falls under the "home on wheels" category, whether that's a small towable or an oversize park model. They also do food trucks, modular housing, and custom units from scratch or inspired by standard layouts.

The company's motto is to keep "working on changing the way this industry thinks of tiny," and the latest addition to the lineup, called Bozeman, is an example of how they're doing that. Bozeman is now under construction, but renders released in mid-March offer a good look at this future custom home – a home where luxury and functionality meet to create a unique space.

More than anything, Bozeman is a different way of thinking of a tiny, and that's probably because it's not so tiny to begin with.

The home sits on an extra-large trailer and offers a total length of 36 feet (11 meters) with 11 feet (3.3 meters) in width. The total living surface is 399 square feet (37 square meters), but it feels much bigger than that, thanks to a single-level layout, the use of expansive glazing throughout, and contrasting interior styling.

The builder describes it as a "premier model," and it definitely lives up to that description. As shown in the renders, with a large terrace styled as an outdoor living room with an attached hot tub, it lives like the epitome of downsized luxury. It makes no compromises as regards features and comes with minimal compromises in terms of space. The latter is a significant achievement in any tiny house where space is at a premium.

The Bozeman unit now in construction is designed for the hospitality industry, but the builder says the model can work just as well as a long-term residence as it does as a short-term rental. Because this one is meant for glamping, it uses a single-level layout to create the illusion of more space, sacrificing storage options in the process.

It's a gorgeous look into a possible downsized future, if not an entirely mobile one. Like most park model tinies, the Bozeman can travel from location to location but would require extra permits in order to do so because of its size. Still, it's more mobile than a typical brick-and-mortar construction.

This Bozeman unit is customized with extensive glazing "to capture the breathtaking views the property has to offer" and comes with a cozy living area and a single bedroom with a queen-size bed and a gorgeous reading nook by the picture window at the foot of the bed. This being a park model, the extensive use of glass isn't that surprising, while also a most welcome gimmick at creating a much airier and brightly-lit interior.

The styling is modern, verging on opulent, with a fireplace in the living room and black cabinetry and counter surfaces in the open-plan kitchen. Contrasting colors and minimalist furniture work wonderfully together to create a welcoming but very rich space.

The kitchen has everything from a breakfast bar that resembles an island to a coffee station and considerable storage – which is even more impressive given that it's meant as a rental. The same veined marble-like counters extend into the bathroom, where you get a large shower, flushing toilet, and sink with matching vanity.

Movable Roots says they're building four Bozeman units for this one client, with prices starting at $230,000 apiece. They're promising photos and updates on the progress of the project, which means the full list of specs and features is forthcoming.

Once this project wraps up, the company will be taking other orders on other Bozeman units, which we gather will be entirely customizable. Put a pin in it if you're looking to downsize in style and you're loaded. Once the Bozeman officially joins the lineup of Movable Roots models, it will also be one of the most expensive options on the tiny house market.
