It's no secret that superyachts reveal some of the most jaw-dropping interior styles we could ever see. Apart from their impressive engineering and technical performance, these luxurious vessels are known as floating mansions, and for good reasons. It's not just about highly comfortable amenities but also about spectacular interior design.
Finding an ugly Italian-designed superyacht would be challenging. The shipyards in this country are among the top yacht builders in the world, while Italy-based designers are known to cooperate with high-level builders across the globe. If you are lucky enough to be able to admire a superyacht up close and be delighted with its sumptuous interiors, there's a great chance they came from the hands of an Italian designer.

Custom superyachts are the epitome of luxury because there's no greater satisfaction than making your dreams come true. The super-wealthy owners that commission bespoke pleasure craft can literally get their dream yachts and get involved in the creative process as much as they want to. Famous superyacht owners are known for bringing their wildest fantasies to life, like the late Paul Allan and Octopus – one of the most futuristic, awe-inspiring megayachts even today.

On the outside, luxury yachts look roughly the same, with few notable exceptions. However, once you step onboard, an entirely different world opens up in front of you. You might feel as though you've traveled back in time, to the era of classic gentlemen's yachts with rich mahogany paneling and heavy furniture; you might travel to the future inside ultra-minimalistic, cocoon-like spaces that resemble spacecraft; more often than not, you'd discover the extravagant features of five-star resorts, highlighted by the latest interior design trends. With superyachts, the possibilities are endless.

Liberty is the name of a beautiful, sleek superyacht that chose the ocean as its main inspiration. If other luxury pleasure craft recreate the Star Wars atmosphere, a jungle oasis, or the style of a glamorous Art Deco mansion, Liberty does something simple and ingenious at the same time – it brings the ocean indoors through styling.

The Italian ISA Yachts delivered this masterpiece in 2011. The acclaimed architect Rene Van Der Velden was the wizard who brought to life Liberty's maritime-inspired interiors, complementing the elegant, alluring silhouette created by Andrea Vallicelli. At 50 meters (164 feet), Liberty is large enough to boast oversized living and socializing areas while still sleek enough to hit high speeds and reach secretive beaches.

The dark grey hull (not a common paint color option in the superyacht world), bright-white superstructure, and dynamic profile make Liberty instantly recognizable. Performance-wise, it combines exhilarating speed with fuel efficiency and a comfortable ride. It's equipped with twin MTU engines, two Northern Lights generators, and zero-speed stabilizers.

Perfectly ready to hit more than 15 knots (17 mph/27.7 kph), Liberty is also fully stabilized, ensuring a smooth cruise for its guests. Boasting a fuel capacity of more than 23,000 gallons (87,000 liters), this sleek yacht burns only 220 L/H at 12 knots, promising an impressive range of more than 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km) at an economical speed of 11 knots (12.6 mph/20 kph).

Onboard, Liberty draws guests inside a stunning, magical ocean-like environment. Everything from the custom-designed fabrics to the decorative items was carefully chosen to recreate a maritime atmosphere. The main salon looks truly spectacular with its coral-themed dining area and bespoke glass wall partition that separates the formal dining room from the lounge area.

The impressive six-cabin configuration takes things to the next level by focusing on a different theme in each stateroom: turtles, seahorses, sharks, shrimps, coral, starfish, and nautilus. The full-beam master suite is a lavish oasis in itself, with generous spaces that include a private office, a cozy relaxation area, and ample storage.

The queen VIP suite also enjoys fabulous views on the bridge deck, while the other four cabins (two doubles and two twins) sit on the lower deck. All feature en-suite bathrooms and modern entertainment systems.

Liberty can welcome up to 13 guests and has plenty of socializing and relaxation areas for all of them. The elegant sky lounge functions as a secondary salon with a generous lounge area. The sun deck is perfect for enjoying the panoramic views. It features a covered area in the center for dining in the open air and a fully-equipped bar forward. The aft area is dedicated to sun lounging, fitted with plush sun beds. The sky lounge aft and main deck aft provide additional areas for al-fresco dining.

Luckily, this beautifully-decorated superyacht is still in excellent shape. In 2021, it completed its ten-year classification survey. The most recent renovation, completed that same year, included a full overhaul of its main engines and generators; all pumps were replaced, and its stabilizers were upgraded with the latest Quantum parts for even lower noise and vibration levels. The signature interior remained the same, with the addition of new carpeting, new linens, and new cashmere blankets.

The first in ISA Yachts' 50-meter custom series, Liberty was designed from the start to become a successful charter yacht. Its gorgeous ocean-inspired interiors can mesmerize all water lovers, including charter guests and a potential new owner. Right now, the freshly-renovated Libery is asking for €16,9 million ($18.4 million).
