Tesla introduced the Santa Mode easter egg in 2017, and it has never stopped entertaining people of all ages ever since. The festive mode was given a boost with this year's High Fidelity Park Assist feature, and the result is hilarious.
Elon Musk is often mocked for his childish behavior, but it's exactly his playful side that makes him such an asset for Tesla. Many features the EV maker adds to its vehicles have been developed precisely because the impossible doesn't exist in a child's mind. Elon Musk also likes to play and has an acute sense of humor, which sometimes becomes obvious even in the most serious circumstances.

This is why Tesla hid many easter eggs hidden inside the software installed on its vehicles. The Santa Mode is one of the most elaborate, considering that Tesla has pulled all the stops to make this Christmas mode as fun as possible. When Santa Mode was introduced in 2017, Musk warned that it was an easter egg within an easter egg. It didn't take long before Tesla fans discovered what he meant.

Santa Mode turns your Tesla visualization on the infotainment screen into Santa's sleigh, complete with two reindeer. It's not only your car that changed, but all other vehicles, which are now displayed on the screen as reindeer. Tesla put a lot of thought into this easter egg so that the reindeer's legs move faster the faster you drive. The turn signal sounds have also been switched for sleigh bells, and the reindeer's collars flash red when you use your turn signals.

Depending on how you activate the Santa Mode, you get a slightly different version of it. The Toy Box way will play the "Run Rudolph Run" song at the start. You can also activate Santa Mode with the "Ho ho ho" voice command, in which case no music is played, and the turn signals will not change into sleigh bells. Finally, the easter egg within the easter egg that Musk talked about in 2017 is triggered by the "Ho ho ho, Not Funny" voice command. In this case, the song "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" will be played.

This year is no different than the years before, with all the Santa Mode bells and whistles still there to make you and your family smile. Well, maybe you'll smile a little more this year when parking because the Santa Mode is hilarious when combined with the High Fidelity Park Assist feature that Tesla launched with the 2023 Holiday Update. I don't know if this is by design, but it sure is funny. At least, that's what the pictures shared on social media suggest.

Because the High Fidelity Park Assist will draw representations of the obstacles nearby and the vehicles are usually represented as reindeer when the Santa Mode is on, you know what you'll see now: cars with reindeer heads. In some instances, you'll even see reindeer heads hung on the garage walls, making it even funnier than it already was. Have you noticed some weird representation with the Santa Mode On?
