100 milliseconds can be considered less than the average duration of a human eye blink, so 0.1s can't mean that much, right? Well, for instance, if we're talking about the Tesla Model S P100D shaving 0.1s off its already-stellar 0 to 60 mph sprint time, this is kind of a big deal.
And we'll get to see the real world effects of this change next month, when the Palo Alto carmaker is set to drop a new Easter Egg for P100D owners.

Elon Musk delivered the news on Twitter, letting us know that the Model S P100D will also be able to complete the quarter-mile run in 10.6 seconds.

With Tesla already calling its range-topping sedan the quickest production car in the world, seeing the Model S beating the HHHT (Holy Hybrid Hypercar Trinity) members to 60 should provide quite a spectacle.

Drag strips will also be taken by storm, with the Model S having already set a new 1/4-mile record for the quickest stock four-door. As we previously wrote, the Model S 1,320-feet performance has had an astounding evolution: while the P85 delivered 12.3s run three years ago, the P85D brought the game to 11.2 seconds (with Ludicrous Mode), while the P100D now sits at 10.7s.

Model X owners will also be treated with an overnight gym program, but Musk didn't offer the full details here. Nevertheless, the performance boost could be included in Tesla's upcoming 8.1 software update.

Yep, that means the electric SUV will tie the McLaren P1 in terms of the 0 to 60 run.

If your driveway is already decorated with a P100D, there's no reason to fret, as the software optimization will reach "all P100D vehicles produced to date, as well as new,"

Fun times await you, since the Easter Egg nature of this over-the-air update means you'll have to figure out how to activate it. Who knows? Maybe you'll get to complete this electric puzzle just in time to give Santa a shotgun ride in return for all those presents.
