Tesla Model S P85D, 85D, 60D Pricing, Tech Package with Autopilot Detailed

Let's not beat around the bush too much because it's very hot news and Elon left us in the dark for a week too long: $75,070 for the Tesla Model S 60D, $85,070 for the mid-range 85D and (are you sitting down?) no less than $120,170 for the P85D.

All those starting prices include the $1,170 regulatory doc fee and destination charge. In comparison, the normal, rear-wheel drive Tesla Model S 60 kWh costs $71,070 (4 grand less expensive than the 60D), the 85 kWh variant is $81,070 (the same amount), while the former Model S range-topper is $94,570, equating to a $25,600 difference compared to the P85D.

Truth be told, there's not much of a gap between the 60 and 85 kWh versus the 60D and 85D. Those two and the mightly impressive P85D as well come with an industry leading 8-year/infinite-mile battery and drive unit warranty. In addition to that, the 60 and 85 kWh variants' upgrade to two electric motors and all-wheel drive doesn't add any optional extra, that's why the gap is only $4,000.

But that can't be said about the fastest-accelerating four-door sedan in the world. The extra motor in the Tesla Model S P85D is worth $14,600, but the $$$ difference to $25,600 is taken by some options that are automatically ticked from the list when opting for dual motor performance. These are the Tech pack that includes the Autopilot suite of features, Smart Air Suspension and lightweight 21-inch alloy wheels.

Speaking of which, the Tech Package with Autopilot ($4,250) bundles memory seats, mirrors and driver profile, power folding and heated side mirrors, GPS enabled Homelink, a power liftgate, lighted handles, keyless entry, LED running lights, cornering lights and fog lamps, updated maps and navigation for the US with free updates for 7 years, as well as lane-drift assist, speed limit warning and automatic parking.
