Tesla’s new entry-level electric car, reportedly named the Model E, could be launched in 2015, Auto Guide reports, adding that the vehicle is expected to borrow several styling cues from the company’s already successful Model S.
The new sedan is rumored to deliver a driving rage of 199 miles (320 kilometers) and cost around $35,000. It’s not exactly news, as Elon Musk confirmed a Nissan Leaf rival earlier this year. However, Tesla’s CEO said the new EV will arrive in three to four years, which means not sooner than 2016.

In related news, word has it Tesla Motors is also working on an affordable compact crossover aimed at the BMW X1 and the Audi Q3. The small SUV could be based on the Model X, a vehicle initially scheduled to be released in 2013, but delayed for 2014.
