When it started its life as an aspiring startup, Tesla mesmerized its early adopters with visions of a luxury electric carmaker. Now, though, as its goal was always to democratize zero-emission vehicles, it has come down to mass-market territory. However, according to some, it's still not on par with regular folks.
There's no day passing in the imaginative and restless automotive realm that we don't hear something new about Tesla. Whether it's something good – like the company's planned expansion of FSD (Full Self-Driving) to worldwide venues like Europe or China, or something bad – like the latest rumor from the mill that Musk is planning even more job cuts, they're always keeping the headlines.

The same is valid across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators – there are very few moments when a pixel master is not pitching an idea for something wacky or logical. Speaking of awkwardness, the artist tucked behind the uness_design moniker on social media recently envisioned an outlandish dream (or nightmare, depending on your POV) – a Tesla CyberSport high-riding four-door sedan that looked like a cross between a bat and a vampire.

Anyway, if you're after much more sensible work that could also become a reality in the world of humans, Sugar Chow, the virtual artist better known as sugardesign_1 on social media, has decided to CGI present his vision for the potential 'cheaper' Tesla in the form of the 'Tesla Model 2 Grand Hatchback.' It's not the first time this CGI expert has taunted us with his visions of smaller-than-Model 3 and Model Y Teslas, and it seems the updated Model 3 design traits work like a charm on a five-door version, too.

This, offered at a lower price point than the sedan in America, Europe, or China, could help Tesla attract even more customers – its falling sales and revenues have become a hot subject of debate after the first slump in years was announced following the results tallied for the first quarter of the year. Obviously, this hypothetical Tesla Model 2 would need very few changes from the Model 3 for economies of scale and could also take advantage of all the goodies introduced by the eagerly-anticipated refresh.

So, what do you think? Should Tesla continue with job cuts and the pricing wars or focus its dwindling resources on actually getting its current cars a lot better (just like they did with the new Tesla Model 3 Performance) and researching and developing additional models at lower pricing points? Or is the EV revolution doomed to once again start from scratch after failing spectacularly due to political incompetence, a lack of resources and infrastructure, plus initial high prices?
