As the Tesla Cybertruck delivery event gets closer, speculations about the electric pickup have gone wild. A new insider leak reveals the Cybertruck key dimensions, placing it between a full-size and a mid-size pickup, significantly smaller than anticipated.
Everybody is curious to see what the Cybertruck's specifications look like, although Tesla keeps this a secret. This explains why we've seen many speculations about the Cybertruck's size and features. The official specifications are vague, with Elon Musk only confirming that the Cybertruck will be "the first sub-19 feet truck with four doors and a 6+ feet bed."

Some fans took the matter into their own hands and tried to measure the Cybertruck with a measuring tape, although this might not have been the best idea. Scott sneaked around a Cybertruck and figured it could be about 78 inches wide. Still, his method lacked precision, as he used marks on the floor instead of measuring the Cybertruck directly.

The TFLEV team got a tip from an insider with the Cybertruck specifications, and they hid a couple of intriguing surprises. If the numbers are accurate, the Cybertruck is much smaller than previously rumored, at only 18.6 feet long. That's 223.2 inches, 9.5 inches shorter than a Ford F-150 Lightning, but 6.1 inches longer than a Rivian R1T. This shows that the Cybertruck is not exactly in the full-size truck territory, but it's larger than a regular mid-size truck.

What the Cybertruck lacks in sheer size, it makes up in clever design. Despite being shorter, it still packs a 6+ feet bad, as Musk promised. The leaked specifications show 72.8 inches, which is precisely 6.07 feet. With a width of 79.9 inches without mirrors, the Cybertruck is also narrower than a full-size truck, although slightly wider than the Rivian (79.3 inches).

Another critical detail for pickup truck buyers is the tow rating. According to the leaked paper, the Cybertruck has a tow rating of 11,000 lbs, much lower than the promised 14,000 lbs. It's unclear whether this is the rating for the dual-motor variant, the three-motor, or both. What is clear is that a lot of people will be disappointed if this is all the Cybertruck can offer to truck buyers. To be fair, it should be noted that the Rivian R1T also has an 11,000-lb tow rating, while the Ford F-150 Lightning provides 10,000 lbs.

Since we're at the disappointing features, the spec sheet shows that the frunk is minuscule, as some people suspected from the previously leaked pictures. More specifically, it has a 7.1 cu-ft capacity, half that of the Ford F-150 Lightning. Even the Rivian R1T has a larger frunk, at 11.6 inches.

On the positive side, the insider also provided a picture showing that Tesla's electric pickup will feature three outlets in the vault. Two of them are regular 110-volt outlets, with the third being a NEMA 14-50 receptacle, which can theoretically deliver up to 50 amps over a 220-volt connection. That's enough to power an entire house and even charge an electric vehicle at 11 kW AC. It's pretty impressive, even if Tesla will choose to offer less than that.
