TechArt is introducing the Formula Race lightweight centerlock rims, which will be offered to the aftermaket-thirsty public starting from January next year.
The new rims come in sizes of 20x8.5 inch ET 40 and 20x8.5-inch ET52 for the front axle, and 20x12-inch ET50 for the rear axle. Customers can choose between the Titanium Grey Matte standard color and a virtually infinite range of individual matched finishes.
The aftermarket producer recommends Continental ContiSportContact 3 and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 in sizes of 245/30R20 and 325/25R20 as well as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup+ in dimensions of 245/30R20 and 315/25R20.
The TechArt Formula Race comes with optimized rigidity and weight ratio, based on the lighter twin spokes and the centerlock connection. This offers a weight advantage of 10 percent, compared to the TechArt Formula III Forged rims and are 25 percent lighter than conventional alloy rims. In addition to that, track users will appreciate the fact that the rims offer a faster wheel change time.
The lower weight allows for a reduction of the rotation and unsprung mass, which allows the vehicle to offer an enhanced level of driving dynamics.
“Another advantage if compared to a conventional 5-hole screwed: A fast wheel change, which represents an important plus factor when used on the race track. In addition, the high material stability permits the known filigree design of the TECHART forged wheels, which results not only in visual dynamics but significantly improves the ventilation of the brakes,” stated the press release.
