Suzuki Canada Inc. has announced it will discontinue production of new vehicles after the 2014 model year in order to focus on motorcycles, ATVs, and its marine division.
The company's decision to halt auto sales follows a similar decision took by Suzuki Motor of America four months back. The automaker has already filed Chapter 11 in the US and sales will stop as soon as all remaining stock is cleared.

"[Suzuki has] been monitoring market conditions carefully and, after reviewing the long-term viability of automotive production for Canada, [Suzuki Motor Inc.] concluded that it was no longer feasible for it to produce automobiles for distribution and sale in the Canadian market," the company said in a statement.

However, Suzuki Canada Inc. will still honor product warranties and full parts and service for its cars through dealers, who will be provided with at least 12 months to make the transition.

Suzuki sold about 5,500 Kizashi, SX4, Crossover and Grand Vitara automobiles in Canada last year.
